About CatchYourSunset

The CatchYourSunset started development in the middle of august in 2026. The first version came just before christmas. This site is has been build by just one person. The results of the first verion were quite dissapointing. But I tried to update the algorithm as I wanted. Still the system is finished and some forecast can be inaccurate, but i will try my best to make this algorithm as good as it should be.

The Story

The CatchYourSunset story begins on a late evening, when I was playing Minecraft. I was playing it when on the outside was a really beautiful view after the sunset, better know as the golden hour. The idea struck my mind to make something that could tell me earlier if the sunset and the golden hour will be beautiful. So after that I immediately started doing the site.

It was hard at the begging cause I didn't know anything about website development, but I have learned Html and CSS fast. I already knew how to program so the rest wasn't so challenging, the first obstacle came when I started doing the main thing, the algorithm. I started using complicated math formulas, that I didn't knew about but after hours of thinking and coding the algorithm was working but some of his aspects were off. As I said earlier the algorithm is still in construction, and some ascpects and forecasts can be defective.

Mission

This project started as a side project, to my college work. But after hours of coding and thinking I decided to share my work to the internet. In the future I will try to make a mobile app for a better access and also notifications. Beside that, I want to improve the CatchYourSunset algorithm.
