To make the most accurate sunset forecasts the CatchYourSunset algorithm makes a specific grid which covers a special amount of space
which is neccessary to check when predicting the sunset. Down below you can see the sketch of the grid. The grid is the first step to
make a forecast in the next step I will explain the data being collected by the algorithm and how important specific parameters are to measure.
Also my algorithm calculates the azimuth of the sun so the grid will adapt to the sun. That makes those forecast even more accurate.
The second step in making a prediction of a sunset is to collect specific data. The most important parameters are mostly associated with clouds. The algorithm collects: low, mid, and high clouds. Other significant parematers are: rain probability, humidity, visiblility, radiation, dew point and time. Each of the parameters is being treat diffrently. The clouds take thos most points and have the highest value.
Let's move to the most fun part of the algorithm. After it collects data it can make a solid prediction if there will be a lot of colors on the sky after or even in the time of
the sunset. This version of the algorithm it is not great at it but. The updte that I am currenlty working on will be better at it. So shortly speaking the colors are coming from
mid and high clouds. If there aren't any low clouds on the horizon and you see some nice looking mid or even high clouds there is a possibility that this sunset will be amazing. Of course there
are some other things to measure but my algorithm is able to make those measures. Down below is a small sketch of how to colors on the clouds appear.
After everything is collected my algorythm makes the hard calculations to return a number between 0 - 100%. To check the beauty
of the sunset, go to the guide site to examine the categories and percentages to know better how a sunset will be.
